My Recommendations:
Both Gigabyte and Asus, continue to impress me with their quality, stability and long term reliability. Intel's Core 2 Duo line of processors pretty much beat AMD in every benchmarking category, be it gaming, video/audio editting or office applications.  The Quad core debate is now on with the recent reduction in pricing. Unfortunately, only users of highly threaded apps will really see a benefit going from dual to quad cores. Games and most programs out today don't really utilize the extra horse power from the additional cores. Eventually software programmers will catch up.
